Abstract>The Global Map-ELEVATION layer is a component of the Global Map, a 1:1,000,000 scale framework dataset of the world. The elevation data contained here were converted from GTOPO30 provided by U.S. Geological Survey EROS Data Center, USA. Although the data were  originally published as Global Map version 0, it was retiled in 30 degrees and published as Global Map version1 in order to facilitate data use. 
Purpose>The Global Map is a basic framework database designed to support Geographic Information Systems applications, especially for examination of global environmental issues.
