He was awarded in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the paper, " Geomorphic development of lacustrine landforms and volcanic faults of the Kussharo caldera based on geomorphic interpretation and analysis using 1 m LiDAR DEM (Quaternary Research, Vol. 61, No. 1, pp. 27-44)." The Japan Association for Quaternary Research's Paper Award and Encouragement Award are given to papers and authors published in the Quaternary Research within the past two years, and the selection criteria include the paper's originality, future development potential, comprehensiveness, and important discoveries. Furthermore, the Encouragement Award is open to first authors who are members of the Japan Association for Quaternary Research and are 35 years of age or younger as of April 1, 2024. |
